This weekend’s featured game had everything, goals, crunching tackles and a really good standard of football.

Given Villas lowly position they penned Utd back in their own half for the first 20 mins with some good passing and movement, but they never created a golden chance.
Utd with Jamie Felton, Dan Hollands, pushing on the wings and Guney Uven and JP Taylor up top using their pace, took the lead when Dan Hollands hard work won the ball, squared it to Lee Byrne who crossed the ball to the far post for JP Taylor to poke in with his left foot. 0 - 1.

Villa looked shell shocked, Jacko Leaman rolled back the years with a mazey run from his left back position to shoot just over the bar minutes later Jamie Felton made it 0 - 2 after a good run by himself, he lost the ball but tackled 2 Villa players in their penalty area and scored past the rushing goal keeper.

Just before the break Villa got a goal back, a bit of quick foot work on the edge of the box and a flat footed Matt Turner let the striker through to put it in the bottom left corner. 1 - 2.

H.T. 1 - 2

The second half started with Utd looking the sharper, the late goal seemed to rally them, not dent their confidence. Paul Hewitt and Lee Byrne were dominating the midfield by now and a foul on the tricky Dan Hollands who Villa could not handle led to a third goal. Lee Byrne placed the ball down 20 yards out and smashed it into the top corner. 1 - 3.

The game was now stretched with passes going astray but some good football was still trying to be played by all involved. Substitute Ben Drinkwater was climbed over in the penalty area and a penalty was given, but minutes earlier Jamie Felton’s penalty appeal was turned down, with this penalty awarded Lee Byrne stepped up and smashed it into the top corner. 1 - 4.

Substitutes were coming on for both teams now and the game was all but over, a clearance form the impressive Steve Narvidge struck Villas rushing striker and looped in over keeper Martyn Byrne who had a good game himself.
